The US Football History of Pittsburgh Steelers Washington Post Edition Book

Shoulders clash, players scream instructions, 80,000 fans create a cacophony of noise in the Tulane Stadium, New Orleans. This is Super Bowl IX, and it’s as intense as football gets. Especially for the Steelers’ defensive end, Dwight White, who’s been in hospital with pneumonia and lost 20 pounds. But this is the Steelers’ shot at a first Super Bowl win, and a steely determination, come what may, is mandatory.

THE ‘Mad Dog’ typified Steelers’ spirit that day, as Chuck Noll’s team defeated the Vikings 16-6. The Washington Post match report for that game, and many more, are reproduced in this book, to take fans through their team’s history, from 1942 onwards.

It’s a history with lots of iconic moments – the ‘immaculate reception’ against the Raiders in ’72, Ben Roethlisberger leading the last-minute drive in Super Bowl XL,  Mike Tomlin becoming the youngest Super Bowl winning coach in ‘09, and much more.
